BBC News - Why Did Britain Fall Out Of Love With Seasame Street
“The style of the programme is a tad out-dated - there are very few puppet shows around now.” - Nick Wilson, Five’s Director of Children’s Programming.
Any TV executive who thinks this is an idiot. It’s simple. It’s this same kind of thinking that pollutes our cinemas and television with mainly poorly made 3D animation.
Children love anything as long as it’s fun and entertaining! Doesn’t matter if it’s flashy or whatever. It’s always the story and the fun that make things entertaining to watch, not how it’s made. Jim Henson created a show that had the perfect combination of heart, creativity and education, why would you take that away from kids and replace it with Lazy Town?

I thought Channel 4 had the broadcast rights?
Man, I miss Channel 4 :(
